Register

Welcome to Punkaharju Swimrun on Finnish Nature Day, 29 August 2026

In Punkaharju Swimrun, you swim in the clear waters of Lake Puruvesi and Lake Pihlajavesi and run through the Punkaharju research forest and nature reserve, as well as along the Punkaharju Harjutie road, selected as the Road of the Century in Finland. The area is one of the world’s oldest nature reserve areas and one of Finland’s most iconic national landscapes.

Routes

  • Kuutti / Cute series: 10.5 km (1.9 km swimming)
  • Norppa / Lake Seal series: approx. 20.4 km (3.2 km swimming)

In the Kuutti series, one person forms a team. In the Norppa series, participation is possible as a solo competitor or a two-person team.

Running sections take place on the Hakinkierros trail (Kuutti and Norppa), other Punkaharju outdoor routes (Kuutti and Norppa), approximately 0.5 km on forest ground with low vegetation on the northwestern side of Laukansaari (Kuutti and Norppa), and along the Punkaharju Harjutie road (Norppa). The Harjutie road is asphalt, but it is also suitable for running on the road shoulders. See the course map below.

Note: In addition to public outdoor routes, parts of the course pass through private land. For this reason, the full course is accessible only on the event day.
